Things to do to avoid being surprised by the telephone bill… after holidays abroad
It is the middle of vacations, the day is really hot, the beaches are crowded with tourists and nobody wonders what the costs of phone calls from Spain, Greece or Tunis are.
Before holidays abroad it is advised to check the roaming fees in the country that we are going to visit, so that the phone bill would not be an unpleasant surprise after our return. The cheapest telephone communication is made from the Associated States of the European Union. Every year European Commission forces mobile phone operators to lower the costs of telephone communication among the European Union countries with the directives that establishes the highest fees for making and answering calls and sending short messages. From the first of July this year they are as follows: for one minute of the phone connection the operators will not be able to charge more that 0, 39€ and for the incoming connection not more than 0, 15€. When it comes to short messages, operators can charge not more than 0, 11€ for one message.
